I've done the glitch twise and from my experience you only pop through on the far right (or left but I went through twise on the right). The angle you take must be a very small distans from the 90 degree angle, well just look at the vid and you will see it. If you do a few ya-ya moves you move to the right or left depending on the angle you took. I think Its becos the backwards speed pushes you to the corner. Once you'r there you pop through if you'r lucky. Hope this helps you out ;)

Nope.

I have a quick question for anyone with an emulator. I was wondering what would happen if you did the Chuckya glitch so that you were holding the 'race through downtown star' then you collected another star, for eg. the 8 red coins star? Also what would happen if you were low on heath, holding that star, and you were hit by an enemy, causing you to drop the star and die at the same time?

I just tested it... When I went to collect another star, the star I was holding was left floating in the air, and Mario did his dance, the level ended, and I got credit for the star I collected (not the one I was holding).

I tried various methods of dying with the star. If I was hit by an enemy (or burned), Mario would collect the star with no health lost, and the level would end. When jumping from a height, Mario died when he hit the ground, and dropped the star without collecting it. When I drowned with the star, Mario still held onto it, and died without collecting it.

Nice video Stefan... I'm doing something similar by timing how fast I can get every star, so I'll be timing getting the red coin star in the Bowser levels for sure. I think you already saw this movie, but I haven't posted it here yet:

It's pretty much the exact same as Stefan's run, except in NTSC. I didn't work on doing the level as absolutely fast as I could, this was just a video to show some shortcuts to people doing speed runs. So it's still possible to cut off a little more time... Maybe I'll time these levels as well as the stars. I'll probably count the level done as soon as you're in the pipe.

just a small glitch. BLJ on the small set of stairs in whomps fortress. Keep longjumping against the wall after you got your speed boost from the stairs and you should pop through the wall (most of the time it takes you 4 to 5 longjumps against the wall to pop through) and land on the other side of the fortress. I never succeded to get into the fortress but it looks like im not even in it once, your just suddenly on the other side, same that happened to me when BLJ against the JRB door. I have it on tape but im to lazy to make a vid, the glitch is easy to do so just go and try it out.

I was just playing around with the chuckya in Rainbow Ride, and I got him to the Tricky Triangles area. Unfortunately, you can't take a heavy chuckya very far and there's no water in this course. I also got him to the starting area, but then he threw me off the edge. I made a video of him catching me in the air, and then falling far enough to disappear. As we know, some things disappear when they are far enough away from Mario. In this case, the Mario chuckya is holding is fake and the real Mario is invisible. The camera centres on the invisible Mario, until you press R, and then you get a bottom view of the course.

Someone reported doing this glitch, and then leaving the course with chuckya. When I tried to duplicate this, I couldn't get chuckya to catch Mario after the death animation started. It still might be possible if chuckya catches you at the exact same time the animation starts. This may have no significance, but Myles Bukrim was able to get caught by chuckya at the exact time it hit the ground, so he was left stranded in the air.

I've gotten a little speed on those stairs before, but I haven't gotten through any walls using this "slight boost" method yet.

I'm a sceptic. I'd like to see someone here figure that timing out. Maybe a similar method can be used to bring MIPS through a warp.

You can't move at all while you are invisible, and you are stuck in the air wherever Chuckya picked you up, until he throws you, then the game will warp your position to where Chuckya is. In THI, I did this next to a fly guy, and it would shoot fire and dive at the invisible Mario. (Although we know that if he picks you up in water, you have control over the invisible Mario. You also have control after using the gameshark levitate code... this is the reason the invisible Mario was first mentioned, I think.)

Yes, it was just like that except over the water. I think you must have perfect timing to get it to work.

A gameshark, a bad Mario 64 cartidge, or a miracle.

If you could somehow beat the odds and get Chuckya inside the castle, you would be holding air (or a pillar or a door) because Chuckya is not inside the "items" array of the castle.

The problem with putfile as I see it is that you can only watch the video through its web link and for some reason it keeps locking up, disturbing the movie's continuity and being annoying. Is there another way you can upload movies, like an FTP program or Angelfire or something? If you give it to me, I can put it on my web site for a while if you want.

If the reported glitch was true, then all we have to do is activate the dying animation while being held by Chuckya. Having him catch you right before the animation starts doesn't work, because the invisible Mario stays where he was caught - above the "dying zone". The level will end after Chuckya has landed on the level bottom and thrown Mario.

I think it might work if you could get Chuckya to catch Mario right as the animation starts. I'll give it a few more attempts...

The problem with putfile as I see it is that you can only watch the video through its web link...

New Chuckya Glitches Discovered:

I was messing around with the chuckyas in Tall Tall Mountain and the Bowser in the Sky Level.

NOTE: The clarity in the movies are terrible as I had to use a camera, but its better than nothing

What this shows is me getting the Chuckya into the wind storm. Then I cant do anything. You cant see Mario or anyhting. Hmmm.....

This might be more Helpful *excuse my porous announcing*

WHat I found here *as you can hear* is the Chuckya falling by himself over the edge, leading to him halting in midair toward the bottom of the level. We can rpobably do this is many more levels.....

The movie starts with the chuckya on the lower level. I got him there by him falling off by himself, like the video before this. Then I show him falling off again, this time into oblivion, BUT we can still see him, like in Tall Tall Mountain.

What does it mean, I dont know. Not bad for my first Video presentation.

PS: I gave up that 120 star Speed run. *too much work, and too many mistakes.*

DarkPhoenix84, any news on the Big Boo's Haunt find? Or at least on what you thought you found?

The only reason I would have to believe you could take Chuck-Ya out of the course is the rumor that it has been done. Otherwise I would just assume that Mario will die while being "invisible" and get thrown out of the painting as usual.

What would it look like anyway? Would Chuck-Ya jump out of the painting with Mario in hand, and then throw him?

A discussion spontaneously erupted in the Chuck-Ya glitch poll topic concerning the idea of bringing Chuck-Ya back to Chuck-ya. Dom thought it would not be feaseable because you needed to do the dry pipe glitch and warp to get back out of the pipe, but that the warp would necessitate having to get back in the pipe every time.

HOWEVER, Dom, if you remember from your discussion of the dry pipe glitch, you can avoid warping by swimming toward the left side of the pipe as you go out through the load point. With that in mind, maybe this strange "This is Your Life Chuck-Ya" glitch can be done after all.

So we know two things:
1. Chuck-Ya is an idiot.
2. We may be able to use his stupidity for good.

DarkPhoenix: It sounded like there was a delayed reaction when Chuck-Ya fell off in TTM. Did you try looking through the mountain at him?

Bullet Bill: Chuck-Ya might be invisible. Or maybe you would be able to see him but not carry him. (Those are opposites, aren't they?) Or, the painting/hole could be a loading point and he would change into something. Or... Chuck-Ya might die and not make it to the castle.

Most likely, Chuck-Ya wouldn't make it.

Either you'd have to be lucky and get warped with a newly formed Chuck-Ya, or you'd have to swim to the top of the pipe, swim back down, and hope you can bypass the loading point. If you could do that, you'd also have to warp with Chuck-Ya without him changing into something else.

Is there any way around this?

For the wind glitch, the reason you're stuck is because the Chuckya fell far enough from the invisible Mario, who isn't affected by the wind. If you press R, you might get a bottom view of the course (like in the video I posted above), although the camera may act differently in this level.

For the fallen Chuckya, I've never seen that happen before, although Bullet Bill reported that he was able to get Chuckya to fall off from that platform. I'm guessing that he did it in a similar way.

I knew about the Bowser in the Sky one. I mentioned it back when we were trying to figure out ways of getting the WDW/TTM Chuckyas off their platforms.

As for bringing a Chuckya clone back to Chuckya, peteyboo is right: Chuckya will probably change into another item when you warp to the top. You will be lucky to get a clone. Here's the emulator screenshots I posted before:

Hmm... weird stuff. I've noticed that chuckya seems to act slightly differently in the different levels, this is probably due to the different platforms he's on. For example, you can get him to fall off his own platform in TTM and BitDW. I've also noticed that in Tiny-Huge Island, if you take him and walk off certain ledges, Mario will throw chucky straight up instead of forward, making it much easier to jump under him.

I know for certain now that Chuckya will not catch Mario after the death animation has started. So we can't drop Chuckya down to the bottom of the level and then fall into him. And since having Chuckya catch us before the animation starts is useless, the only remaining possibility is having him catch us right when it's starting.

I tried using cheats to move the invisible Mario after being caught, so I could activate the death animation while Chuckya is still holding "Mario". It still didn't work. Since we know that Chuckya is never ever really holds Mario, I'm not sure why this glitch would even happen...

I was talking with Myles Bukrim and he mentioned that he had done this. I remember saying that it might be possible to jump backward up the sloped wall with Chuckya, but I never tried it until now. It's actually easier than I thought it would be - it's not necessary to use back kicks. So... are there any good ways to use Chuckya in Tall, Tall Mountain?

That's the challenge. ;)
The trick is that you can bring him up slopes by repeatedly jumping backwards while carrying him. Usually this is done with a back kick in the air, although it actually isn't necessary. (As this challenge proves.)

One place that should be impossible to get him past is the long jump shortly before the slide entrance. I'm gathering that the backward jumps up a slope is to bypass that?

Do you use backward jumping to get up the crawlable wall behind the lake, and up to where Bob-Omb Buddy is?

Is there a hill you can kick up that will let you bypass the final large gap?

And finally, did you try to bring Chuck-Ya into the slide?

If you backwards longjump up the beach at the correct angle, and you get enough speed, you can get through the door into the BRoD. I've never done it, but someone definitely mentioned it in the last secrets topic.
