I was reading how to do the chuck ya glitch in wet dry world. I t says " grab him." I tried for about 20 minutes trying to grab that stupid chuck ya. I had it at the right level, too, I believe. Can someone be more specific than " grab him? "

Perhaps when you're in the castle, every room in your current section is always loaded into memory, but is blacked out by the game intentionally.

swami: I actually did mention that topic... check my last post in the 'Secrets' part 3. While testing that reported glitch, I accidentally found that Chuckya could push you through walls. That's why I wanted to bring Chuckya into the town.

I also think that. Only the scenery is blacked out, but interactive objects (like doors, star doors, the bowser's trap, toads, MIPS star, etc.) are still visible through the walls.

Hi, I'm new to these boards and I just finished playing this game through for the second time, I'd forgot how much I like this game. Anyways I was surprised to find that this board is still going and intrigued by the glitches you guys have found.

I've done the chuckya glitch which is strange O_o
I'm currently trying to beat the game with only 16 stars but I can't manage to do the trick to bring the bunny through the door. I keep jumping all the way back through the door rather than landing "inside" it. Also I have discovered something strange while trying this, that I can see a star that appears to be in a wall in the basement, I will post a screenshot in a little while.

I've two questions:
1) I didn't manage the stutter jump with Chuckya in WDW. Can somebody
explain me where I've got to stand exactly and what I've got to do then?
2)Is there a loading point in THI? Just for the case I make a mistake by
using the Piranha Plant trick and I only need a few coins to reach 255
so I could fix it with Chuckya.

I'm issuing a new challenge: Combine the dry pipe trick with the chuckya glitch to take the weird items back into the main area so you can play around with them.

I managed to do this (after many attempts) but screwed it up before I could grab any screenshots.

The idea is to jump into the level at the highest water level, then get the pipe dry (either using the jump or by lowering it by swimming through the loading point) Then perform the chuckya glitch, when you jump into the wll of water, you should be warped up to the surface of the water, while still holding the object that appered in your hands.

For the purposes of the Chuckya glitch, the ones going into Wiggler's domain don't really count as "loading points" (although they technically are) because they use the wrong type of transition.

I'm issuing a new challenge: Combine the dry pipe trick with the chuckya glitch to take the weird items back into the main area so you can play around with them.

If you're lucky enough to get a Chuckya in your hands when you do this, then you can get yourself stuck in the floor by going over to the original Chuckya and having him pick you up. This makes you drop the Chuckya you are carrying, which makes the Chuckya that picked you up disappear. Then you're stuck on the floor and have to reset the game. Here's a screenshot: http://img97.exs.cx/img97/6104/chuckyastuck0nu.jpg

Anyway, I think I'll use the dry pipe glitch when I try for 255 coins. This way you don't have to swim all the way back up to get air. Using the glitch to raise the water level of the town into the pipe sounds good, because then you can replenish your air right in the pipe. I did this once after continually swimming through the loading point. Is there a certain camera angle that gives you the best view of the water level? (I know when Bullet Bill raised the water level above the town ceiling he must have had a good method to do this.)

By the way, I got the Bob-omb buddy, and when you drop him (her?) it'll disappear and fall onto the floor. You can still run into it and talk to it while it is invisible. You can't talk to it if you drop it into water, but you can see little bubbles coming up from where it landed.
From: Master Of Majora | Posted: 2/11/2005 11:13:55 AM | Message Detail
I also noticed myself that the water in the pipe gets lower and lower when the town is loaded. This is good when you need air fast. But I found a way to quickly warp out of the pipe by jumping out of the water in the pipe at the same time as the first part of the level loads, as Dom Dunc said. But this messed up my game. The Lakitu camera started to act like it was still under water.

Here´s a tip for those who have problems with the first step in the Chuckya Infinite Money Glitch in Wet-Dry World:

1. When you get to Chuckya, you´ll notice that it comes at you, but only gets to the edge of the platform. This is the best place to throw him off. (Pretty obvious, maybe.)

2. When you have Chuckya in your hands, use the Lakitu camera with C-down. Never use the Mario camera, it will cause problems when you jump down after Chuckya since the camera goes through the walls, disturbing your sight.

3. With the Lakitu camera, turn it so that you can see Mario and Chuckya from their right side. In other words, they should be looking towards the pipe entrance, (east) while the camera is facing the gray slope. (North)

4. Now, check the shadow of Mario and Chuckya closely. Start walking towards the edge. You should be holding right on your control stick. From here on, don´t release the stick until you´re done and Chuckya have grabbed you. Now, when Chuckya´s shadow disappears, before Mario´s does, start pressing A furiously. Just press it many times, and stop exactly when you see Mario jump. He should always do the "second-jump" of a triple jump.

5. Keep holding the control stick right until Chuckya catch you. If your jump wasn´t good, a dive at the end can save you. This shouldn´t happen, though. Avoid diving if your jump was perfect, this will just make you dive under and past Chuckya, killing it.

When I started to use this method, I never failed once. I didn´t need to dive at the end of the jump either. The rest of the steps should be easy.

Doing this glitch 52 times in a row is probably the most painful thing I have ever done. It takes a LONG time, so be prepared. Rest once in a while.

Brightguy: I know when Bullet Bill raised the water level above the town ceiling he must have had a good method to do this.

I stopped the camera in the position shown here:

http://billygard.home.comcast.net/mario/screens/verywet7.jpg

Then I just watch the water surface from here as I swim through the load point nearby. The only bummer is that I have to frequently take an air break.

Artemis64: I didn't manage the stutter jump with Chuckya in WDW. Can somebody

Go up the brown ramp where the highest crystal is. Get on the first step you come to. Stand facing left, parallel to the gray wall but turned very slightly toward it. From here jump up onto the sloped part. Now just hold up-right, and Mario should stutter along the edge until you let go.

When you can do this easily, then try it while holding Chuck-Ya.
______

By the way Master Of Majora, that is a great detailed explanation of how to do the Chuck-Ya glitch. You used some of the same ideas that worked for me, such as repeated pressing of A. You also noticed that the glitch requires a "Woo-hoo" jump to function.

This is from one of my earlier posts:

Tip when trying to enter the pipe with Chuckya: Use the close Lakitu angle. Have it behind Mario, not the side of him, when he faces away from the pipe entrance. When you jump, press UP, then switch to UP + RIGHT and HOLD IT when you are up. At this point, quickly press C LEFT to get an angle that guarantee that you will reach the pipe entrance.

Update on the "Plunge Into Limbo" glitch. In Tall, Tall Mountain I picked up Chuck-Ya and jumped off the cliff using pretty much the same method as the jump in WDW. Chuck-Ya grabbed me in mid-fall and the game got stuck.

According to the submission that started this whole Chuck-Ya thing, this is the method by which you would take Chuck-Ya out of the level with you. But what happens is that Chuck-Ya and Mario fall out of sight and you are left with an unoccupied scenery, with small camera motions when you activate the controls.

However I found something else about this glitch. If you switch to Mario cam, the camera will begin to sink to the bottom of the course, and then you will find it looking back up at Mario, who is suspended in mid-air waddling about as if being held. But he doesn't respond to any controls.

http://billygard.home.comcast.net/mario/screens/limbo2.jpg

I also discovered a modified version of this glitch. I tried to bring Chuck down to the starting area, using the WDW jump. But when we landed there, Chuck-Ya picked Mario up and then exploded into coins. Then Mario is left dangling in mid air just above the ground, waddling as if still being held. I did this twice.

I found you can bring Chuck-Ya down by doing the jump over the water. But I can't think of much anything useful to do after you get him there.

It turns out Mario remains exactly where Chuckya first picked him up. So if you jump at Chuckya, Mario will be floating in the air, still struggling against Chuckya.

From: swami1678 | Posted: 2/12/2005 11:34:46 AM | Message Detail
Agreed. The fact that it's really a combination of glitches and tricks is even better :)

- Having Chuckya NOT explode when he hits the ground, but instead grab Mario at the last second
- The fact that bringing Chuckya through water makes him light, and thus able to jump with
- The fact that there exists the glitchy effect of sputtering on a ledge
- The fact that the loading zones happen to serve as some weird Outer Limits dimension gateway

Just tried the glitch today. Very beautiful :)

:o new glitch. I just discovert a new glitch. It was like wtf :o I call it the ENTER JOLLY ROGER BAY before BOB-OMB BATTLEFIELD glitch. Its very hard to pull of, it took me about an hour to get it. Here's the vid:

http://www.chrisvandijke.nl/stefan/movies/stefanglitch.WMV

its great to open the jolly rojer bay 3 star door with the star power of 3 stars from jolly roger ;DI came to the idea of doing this bcos of what happend to me when I was doing the 30 star door glitch here is a vid of what happened

http://www.chrisvandijke.nl/stefan/movies/mariodoor.avi

in this vid you can see that you dont realy have to fly through the door If you build up speed but just not enough to go through the door just keep backjumping at the door and you should pas it eventually. (You need the speed that the stairs give to pass through the door oherwise you cant pass)

So this gave me the idea to do the same in the main hall. Since the stairs in front of Jolly roger and bob omb battlefield have stair with the right angle to do this (not the main stairs before the 2nd keydoor unfortunatly, the have the wrong angle)

Its amazing that more glitches are found these days, it looks like a never going to end.

Oh yeh as you would have noticed I am PAL I also made a speedrun where I putted lots of time in. My time is 24:34. Also a vid:

Wow. That has to be the most impressive thing I've seen in quite a while. I wonder what else you can do with it...

With this, I think you can beat the game without ever getting a star from any major course except 3 or 9. 7 stars from JRB, then 7 secret stars, and enter HMC to get the 8th, then do the MIPS thing...

I'm not sure, but I think I may have found an alternate way to get into the dry pipe. After you drain the water in the town, go over to where the invisible cap is. Turn right, and go into that dead end. Wall jump up the wall onto the gray roof and long jump from there onto the roof right next to the pipe. From here I've found a few different ways that might get you into the pipe. If you long jump into the pillar at the right angle, you can wall jump off of the pillar and go flying toward the red roof with the fire spitter. Maybe if you hold the control stick up you can grab onto the pipe. If you are at a low wall and wall jump off of it, you can make Mario hold onto the top even though he is facing backwards. Maybe if you long jump into the pipe, wall jump, and hold up you'll hold onto the ledge. So far I haven't been able to do it, but I've come close quite a few times with both methods.

StefanvanDijke, could you reformat the mariodoor.avi file as a WMV. While my computer can play most AVIs, it refuses to play that one. I have it already downloaded. My browser played only the audio, and now I'm dying to see the video part. So far all I saw was the stefanglitch video.

In the meantime, can you just describe what you did in the mariodoor.avi file, so I can learn to do it?

Do you have to get speed up the short stairway as you did in the stefanglitch video before you move over to the door and back jump against it? How difficult is that? What if you just started at the door? What you did at the door didn't look like a speed jump. Did you build up some kind of stored "momentum" from the stairs and take it to the door?

If just backjumping against the door is all you have to do, it should be no sweat getting through any door you want, including the 8-star and even the 30-star door.

And MarioSuperFan, it looks like you spotted the same angled wall I did. I tried to do this particular pillar kick long ago exactly as you described, but I couldn't get the right angle.

I've discovered a new glitch that allows you to go all the way down the "endless" stairs without stepping on them, even if the mini-warp is deactivated:

From the entrance to the 3rd Bowser entrance, run toward the endless stairs, and do a Z+B slidekick from as close to the stairs as possible, going down. You'll fly over a good section of stairs. When you land from this, you will bounce almost high enough to hit the ceiling, and fly over another large section of stairs. After landing from the bounce, push A at the right time and Mario will fly over the rest of the stairs and land at the bottom.
(Note: This probably won't work the first time you try it...)

I finally did brightguy's glitch of getting behind the block inside the cubby hole where the "secret" is.

A peculiar thing about this trick is that twice I pushed against the right half of the block, so as to stay away from Heave-Ho. And both times I couldn't get through. So I used the left half of the block, where the Heave-Ho can reach you, and quickly threw Chuck and got in.

I am venturing to say that if you are inside the block and touch any of the sides, you will get pushed out that side by collision detection. If it is on the left or right side, you will also be pushed back out through the wall because it is a boundary wall. When you get in, the first thing you want to do is walk directly back so you go behind the block.

There may be other places you can get using Chuck-Ya, like inside the cannon tower, but I can't think of any offhand that are particularly interesting.

www.chrisvandijke.nl/stefan/movies/mariodoor.WMV

No you cant go through every door by simply backwards longjumping against it. Its what I say you need to build up speed on the stairs, keep longjumping and then use that speed to go through a door. Like you can see in this vid and that glitch I discovered.

I've found a new glitch! I haven't done much with it yet, but I think it has potential.

First, go out to the courtyard. You might want to go ahead and take care of the boos, they will get annoying later. Go over to where the big boo is (the one with the entrance to Big Boo's Haunt) and try to lure him up the stair toward the statue. You'll notice he will only go so far without turning around and going back. When he gets about as far as he can go, backwards long jump onto his back. If you did it correctly, he'll fly back toward the statue. He'll try to go back to where the grass is, but if you keep landing on him after you propel into the air he'll keep going. It may take a little while, but you can get him anywhere you want him to go (I almost got to the door to the castle, but I accidentally went into the door.)

I think that by doing this glitch, we might be able to get into the BRoD, or maybe the statue.
