This has been done before. The trick is to use Lakitu-Stop cam so that the camera doesn't go haywire.. keep it locked down at the bottom the entire time.

I'll have to look that up again. I haven't used the game since the time I completely flooded the downtown area. And as for all glitches, I have to perform it before I post it.

As to the placement of the castle courtyard, I see no reason why it would take any more memory to have both the front and back yards in the same area, so you could see the back from the castle roof. By the way, since the back of the castle actually has no roof, the tower you do see there is really a duplicate that floats in the air outside the world boundary.

My belief is that the different game areas were constructed separately by different programmers, to be later assembled into the final product using warps. This no doubt explains the joining of major areas by "black rooms of death".

While in the dry-pipe, a couple of times when I went from the swimming mode into walking mode, for a brief moment I walked on air like you do in the Cool, Cool Mountain glitch under the pond.

By the way I vote for "Son of Super Mario 64 Secrets", and add my vote for Dom Dunc.

Smithkararot: "Drowning with Metal Cap: Go to Hazy Maze Cave. Take damage down to 2 pieces of life. Now grab the metal cap (Near Dorrie's Lake) and jump. If you hit the ground and the deep water at the same time, you'll drown. Mario will also make no noise whatsoever. I dunno if anyone else has done this, or tried at that matter, but I'm the only one I know of.

I'll have to try and see what really happens. It would appear from the description that Metal Mario would just die while inside the water, but not actually drown. You could tell a drowning by the Mario's position when he dies.

I performed the Dry Pipe jump while in metal mode to see if anything weird happened. It doesn't. But I managed to make it back into the main area with metal mode still on (albeit very breifly, hense the slowed down footage)

Great find, Dom. I think you mentioned doing it this way origionally, until you discovered goin on fire.

Using metal proves that getting burned isn't necessary to get the necessary speed. Just a triple jump is enough. However this also means you have to contend with the slippery slope.

I just recently found a glitch. I don't know if this has been posted because I have not read all 44 pages.

Anyway, while I was trying to beat the game with 16 stars, I attempted to do the backwards long jump to get to the final bowser. Instead of getting to the top of the stairs, I ended up going through the "wall" and into the Wet, Dry World painting.

I don't know if I actually went through the wall because all I only saw mario go through the "blackness" at the top of the infinite stairway and then into the painting.

I tried to do it a few more times and I could only manage to get to the top of the stairs. I was unable to repeat the glitch.

That has been discovered and posted in this topic,I'm afraid to tell you.

I suggest you change your message settings so that you can see 50 messages per page.It gets things done a lot faster.

Yeah! I don't know if anybody has done this already but i found a way to get to the very top of the castle. Well first you need all 120 stars so that could be pain but if you do have them, keep on reading. First get to the roof anyway you want, then grab the wingcap, go down to the cannon and aim very high to get to the second highes platform on the highest tower. It's also where you can fall down to the black room of death. Now if you manage to fly there and not fall off, then run to the very left side, not the back, and not any othere wall. Then you can run against that wall and defy gravity all the way to the top! Note it dosen't work on any other wall, you'll just slide off or fall into the black room of death.
