Alright, I'm glad that this topic is revived, but what the **** happened to the last one? Why did SephirothZER0 just suddenly pop out of nowhere and put like 23 messages to the topic until he made the 500th post, thus ending the topic? Sure, the topic was on it's last legs, but it could at LEAST have a more proper ending.

First of all, the "big mass post" used to kill off the old topic was a big time TOS violation and carries the penalty, I believe, of 30 days in the Black Room of Death. And to add, I don't think 500 is the limit of posts in a topic anyway. A topic can stand unattended for 12 days after reaching 500. It can get as high as 50,000 and last half a day.

Now that I am here, let me use this for its annointed purpose by posting an update on the investigation of Ryukaki's discovery. Indeed you can swim horizontally in the secret lagoon. I went up by the first route (through the ceiling). When I surfaced, I started swimming toward the bow of the ship, turning to the left and right as I went. If you persist you will find that indeed Mario does move in small amounts as if "on a grid", like Ryukaki said. I actually did make it up near the bow (where it comes out of the water), but drowned when I tried to dive from here.

He also said that there is a limit to where you can swim this way. Anyone out there should experiment with this. Maybe you can swim out over the stern or even cross to the opposite side of the ship.

Good to see that this topic is revived. Oh, and I have an up-date about Yoshi Killing. It seems that he will walk off in the same area (by about 5 mario paces) if you stand on the hat box. Sometimes, just for the fun of it, I try so find nice secrets with the “backward long jump”. In order to do this stunt, you have to know how to do a backward long jump. Simple: Do a regular long jump (you know, the one when Mario goes “BLEHEEW”) but you have to turn the control stick backward. Note: You don’t go so far; only about a third of a regular long jump. Now, follow the steps provided in order to beat the game with 30 stars:

1. Note: a turbo button would sure help. Get 30 stars and go through the first locked door leading to the second floor of the castle.
2. This is where things get tricky. Now go to the next staircase bringing you to the 3rd floor where the levels Tic Toc Clock and Rainbow Ride are. You need 50 stars to get in. Not with this glitch. Now turn around at the bottom of the staircase and face Wet Dry Land. Rapidly do backward long jumps up the stairs and you will fly through anything in your way, in this case, the 50 star door.
3. Now, go to the currently endless staircase and do the same trick. You should go faster than the stairs can spawn. Before you know it, you are at the top where Bowser’s final level is! You’re done! Note: I don’t know why, but sometimes by doing this trick, I end up in Wet Dry Land when doing the trick at the currently endless flight of stairs. Strange… But, this is a cool trick. Remember, it’s very hard without a turbo button.

To clfish: questions about L is real should really be kept to that topic, but I'll tell you anyway. In the courtyard, there is a statue of a star, on the pedestal beneath it, there is an engraving, it looks like the words 'L is real 2041' or something like that. The same texture can be found in zelda:oot. This causes some people to believe that it may be a message.

The Yoshi glitch seems, at the moment, to be a random occurrence, I have never seen it happen, but others have. Just wait around on top of the castle and he may fall off.

Now, for my post...

New glitch: MIPS doesn't run from Mario.

This is a very tough glitch to do, so don't be surprised if you can't do it, I only managed it once. To perform, simply play through the game until you can access the basement of the castle, now find MIPS and chase him until he stops near a wall. Now run at MIPS at full speed and dive at him, with a lot of luck you should grab MIPS and bang your head on the wall at almost the same moment, causing you to drop MIPS again without him having time to start his speech. Now MIPS will just stand where he landed, he won't run from Mario or react in any way. When you want his star, just grab him again and he should give it to you as normal.

Yoshi suicide caught on tape!

Yep, just captured a video of the yoshi suicide, you can grab it from the link below. I have a couple of points to make on this.

I have seen the suicide twice now, and in both cases it was only around three minutes from when I started my game to when Yoshi fell off the roof. I started the game, jumped in the cannon shot up to the roof, jumped on the box, and waited.

Here's a weird thing, when I first saw the glitch, after Yoshi fell off the roof, he was gone. But the second time, the one I got on video, he immediately re-appeared in his normal place. That's another seemingly random element to this glitch.

I thought you could delete your messages if they were the last post? Anyway, I recently came across an interesting bug; perhaps some of you have seen it before. In Tiny-Huge Island, I was swimming around the big fish Bubba (the one by the beach), I ran into it, and then suddenly it swam right out of the water... right up the rock slope. It was fairly far up the slope, with its entire body easily out of the water. Then it just slid right back down into the water again... it looked very strange.

clfish24: Good work for finding it on your own. The actual staircase glitch was posted on this board just over a year ago now. Wow... a full year has past. i've found a new glitch that none of you seem to have mentioned. as soon as you start the game enter the castle as normal and go in the door with the plain star on. in the new room you will notice a picture of a bobomb. amazingly if jump at this portrait you are transported to a whole new world!

Anyway, I'm going to check out the Yoshi video Dom Dunc posted. Just as a reminder, I can't do anything with Yoshi, because I only have 113 stars.

Woah! I was trying to get into the dark room that I can't seem to get into. I was struggling for 10 minutes which made me frustrated. For no reason, I got the wing cap and face-planted into the side of the castle hoping that something would happen. When I was supposed to fall and hit the ground, instead I was standing half inside and half outside the left castle wall. I wasn't able to get out. I kept trying for about a minute and then I fell all the way inside the wall. It was like a bottemless pit in tall tall mountain. I died. Then, I tried to do what I just did. I wasn't successful.

Has this ever happened to you?¿?¿
