I got it, I got it! ^_^ boo ya baby!
Ahem...
anyway the Low res mario looks...werid. New thing I'm starting for all games I have, IN GAME GAMES!!!!
Platform Player:
Go to the Invis. cap stage. You know the platforms on the slant? Use the long jump to get to the platforms and score points depending on how much health you lose. Ex. jumping from the top and landing on a spot that makes you lose 3 health points, that's how many points you have. You can't jump into the void at the end of the slide, that gets you zip even though you lose all your health. Expect more coming soon.
NEXT TIME: WING CAP TARGETS! --- (>0.0)>==============0(>_<)0===========<(0.0<)death by Kirby /^^^^\ 0===l=====> May the sword and the crown serve you. |

Crapness. I was playing SM64 (with gameshark) along with a friend of mine. We were playing around with a code that makes Mario microsopic. When I decided to show him glitches without a gameshark, My file was erased. :( Guess that means I have to cancel the adventures of Microscopic Mario.
Anyway, I found out that Mario turns into "lo res mario" when he's far the camera, like carpets said a page or two back. It's easiet to see this with Lakitu Stop mode on. Try it on Bomb Omb Battlefield's mountain, and tiptoe far from the camera. You'll see it.
Darn, I forgot a thing or two I was gonna say. |

WING CAP TARGETS!! How to: Pick Bomb-om battlefield. get a wing cap and go to the top of the mountain. Fly off and try to get a tree. The tree is the target. Rules: can't touch the ground after takeoff, must hit green part of tree for points. Scores like this: Area at the base of mt:4 pt area near the chain chomp:2 pt on the floting island:5 pt (this can be hard to do) around the mountain walkway:4 pt near the start: 1 pt
winner is the person who gets 20 points first. --- (>0.0)>==============0(>_<)0===========<(0.0<)death by Kirby 100,000,000,000 Grunts and 100,000,000 Eleites dead.# rising |

Good pictures Neo Ninja. I'll be trying that soon. By the way, you can just add an index.htm file to your existing website where the pictures are. Then add links to the pictures from it.
And Anthpel11, I'll be trying the Mario LLD trick as well. Question, does it let you see this verion of mario up close?
Have you figured out how to reproduce your glitch of the invisible floor under Tall, Tall Mountain? How would you do it? Does it work like the similar trick under Cool, Cool Mountain, which in someway involves water? --- "You haven't beaten me once yet. For that you get a big red F" - Bowser |

I made it to the 2nd secret lagoon. I followed the pictures and had to mess with the camera a bit. When I got up and got oriented, I saw the same "where am I" screen that Neo Ninja posted on his website. I notice that it is easier to jump above the water here than in the first area.
It would be interesting to figure out just what is going on in a glitch like this. From the behavior of Mario it would seem that he is inside a narrow tube made of "world border rubber". But maybe Mario is actually outside the world boundary at this point. It could be that the game behaves such that when Mario is out of bounds in a water area he can move but only in a restrained vertical way. Maybe if he were out of bounds without water he couldn't move at all?

"This is on the level that is a large mountain that you go up that has a slide and monkey near the top. Anyways.. I once went on the slide and was just messing around and suddenly I was flying (swimming) in the air. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this."
I am guessing that the slide you are remembering isn't the red slide subcourse, but the main part of the Tall, tall Mountain course itself. Then the water incident you describe can be explained. Something you did caused you to fall inside the mountain and end up under one of the water tables. Whether there is a way to get under a water table without going inside the mountain I haven't a clue.
...Unless you're sure it was the red-slide subcourse (the one with a black background and the whistling music)? If this helps you remember which, feel free to post.

I just spotted the "low-polygon" Mario on the Bob-Omb mountain. Get close to the boss, but not so close that he talks. Walk away slowly so you get a profile of Mario as the camera backs away. Look closely at Mario as he walks slowly. He will change appearance. Most notably his sideburns will disappear. If he stops, his normal appearance will come back.
Now if there were just a way to trick the game into giving us a close-up view of the low-polygon Mario without a gameshark - some area with a glitch that lets you somehow bring the camera close to Mario while the game thinks it is still far away.
In the distant past I messed with a gameshark code for showing an "older Mario" which had flat featureless color similar to the earlier games. This may have been the low-polygon Mario.

Bullet Bill, I've tried to get into the water in Tall Tall Mountain, by jumping on the Shy Guy, then floating under the mountain, (just like your trick in Cool, Cool Mountain) But the bottom of the level is in line with the bottom of the floating structure.
Therefore, as soon as you get low enough the go under the mountain you die.
I'm fairly sure the only way to swim inside the mountain is by breaking through one of the walls.
Maybe there's a way to jump through the wall that leads to the Slide Subcourse but not enter the course and to just fall into the mountain, where it's possible to land in the water. Just a thought. --- XBOX Live GamerTag: Dom Dunc My site: http://www.systemcrash.tk |

Bullet Bull: LLD trick? What's that?
No, I have not done the trick without a gameshark. This is how I found the floor (better detailed since I last told it).
1. I jumped into the painting of the level, choosing a random star.
2. Mario falls down JUST outside of Tall Tall Mountain, like how he always does with the code on.
3. Just around 2 seconds before Mario died, he landed on a floor, and I made him run around before I lost a life.
I'm going to look at where I found the Lo res Mario in the first place. The doors inside BBH's merry go round. |

Am I imagining it, or has this board shrunk to a fraction of its size in just a couple days?
Mario LLD meant to mean "Low Level of Detail", which is VRML-speak for low-polygon nodes that are rendered far away.
I am guessing that the floor you were running around on in Tall, Tall Mountain is the bottom of the world. Something about the gameshark must have warped the death cue so that it didn't execute as fast, so you made it to the bottom before you died.
The only way I know of for reaching this without a gameshark is by picking up a star with nothing under it, like the 100 coin star in Rainbow Ride.

BUMP! This topic must not die! Been busy with other things...
Off Topic: A trial version of Ninja Gaiden has been released to the public. Now this is going to sound a bit crazy, but the game reminds me a lot like Super Mario 64. I think it has to do with the high production values and the fact that your character is extremely acrobatic. I mean, you're able to run on walls, jump up narrow shafts, swing along tree limbs and do as many back flips as your heart so desires. The greatest part though, is probably how polished the controls feel overall. Heh, as you can see, I'm pretty psyched about this title.
I'll be back playing SM64 shortly. --- http://users.ign.com/collection/chem-x.net |

Hi everyone, I'm back with a brand spanking new glitch (I think). When you do the "Multi-Mario" trick using a gameshark (I finally got one ^_^) keep making new marios and eventually the game will freeze and the screen will go black. I got into the caged island just as the metal was fading away. But it was my first run. Maybe I can get faster. I am using the only other way I know to get up there other than the owl. You may be using the same method.
I found an "artifact" in the game graphics that helps me do this trick consistantly. I can only hope it is visible on all displays (not counting emulators).

I don't know if you can wall kick up the crevasse above the basin to the right of the gate. It's awfully narrow and you'd have to do it really fast. I was able to get one wall-kick after double-jumping at an angle.
I did, however, jump-kick my way to the top of the crevasse.

So few posts since I was last here. We haven't found all the glitches have we?
But I've waited long enough and so here's the "artifact in the graphics":
Get in the cannon and aim directly above the caged island. You will see an abrupt line of discontinuity across the blue sky. Aim right at this to land in the cage.
What I don't know for sure is whether this line of demarcation occurs in the same place on every game set.

I thought they had to be asleep to kill them...
Anywho, something interesting happened the other day. I was playing in Bom-omb Valley the other day, star one, and I went up to the summit where the king bomb is.
I was equipped with a wing cap, so I tried to duplicate the well-known David Wonn Koopa the Quick glitch. I was able to do it. I landed on the floating Island across from the summit and the text appeared (where he issues the challenge).
I also made a note that its harder to do this in comparrison with Koopa. By that I mean when I tried doing it again, most of the time I was stopped next to him o read his text. Despite this, it IS possible, so if you are going to try and do it don't give up.

He means he did the glitch, but on King Bob-om instead of Koopa.
Yeah, I tried to do this same thing with Lakitu at the start of the game, triple jumping so that he doesn't talk to me and I land in the water. Just to see what happened, but it didn't seem to work on him. I think it's possible to enter the castle without talking to Lakitu. To do it you have to get on the roof and jump down past the bridge where he meets you.
I guess when I said I was duplicating the David Wonn trick, I may have confused people. I was just applying his well known glitch involving Koopa the Quick to the King bomb.

No bump, but listen. You can enter the space behind the liquid entrance to Dire, Dire Docks. Push against the left wall so Mario's hands are out toward the sides. Move slowly to the right. If you stay against the brick wall, he should go behind the liquid barrier.
There is an invisible wall just behind the liquid barrier that prevents you from going further back. If you lose contact with the brick, he will enter DDD.

MAJOR GLITCH ALERT
I have not found a consistent way to do this, but when one of my friends came over and we were having a SM64 fest,we were messing around with the top of the castle with 0 stars glitch(but in my file with 120 stars, causing Yoshi to be at the top)and I was messing around on the slopes up there(backwards long jumping,it acts like the stairs, you would not BELIEVE the distance you get,you can jump from the roof of the castle to the back of the fish pond)anyways, the first time this happened by complete accident.I was at the top of the castle, and Yoshi strays from his regular path, walking past the flight box.I got even more suspicious when he proceeded to walk down the eastern slant(eastern assuming the position you start at is north)and OFF THE CASTLE.As soon as he hit air,he disappeared. My friend and I proceeded to laugh our asses off,and thought it was a fluke.
THE VERY NEXT DAY I was messing around on top of the castle and decided to stand on top of the wing cap box,to see if it could alter Yoshi's movement, because I am fairly sure your position changes his movement path.I stay there, and he eventually slants of when walking near the southern edge(only very slightly though,I thought nothing of it)then he proceeded to walk past the flight box AGAIN,and at that time I was amazed at my discovery. He then committed suicide again, and I was overjoyed. All the while(during and after the slant in his movement)I kept perfectly still, somewhat in the middle of the wing cap box, with Lakitu cam zoomed out fully and not moving at all.Basically I didn't touch the controller at all.I was facing west, perfectly straight.Unfortunately,I cannot get this to work again.I need some help!We cannot let this amazing glitch go without even trying! It can't be a fluke,it happened twice!I think it had something to with standing perfectly on Yoshi's boundary line, and slowly altering his path past the line, causing him to go all the way.I am also interested in seeing if another Yoshi appears when the first walks off.
I AM NOT LYING I am not lying,as there is no reason to,it would just be wasting time for other discoveries/theories.I appreciate it much if you believe me.
More glitches: I am pretty sure this has been discovered, but as far as I know I discovered it.When fighting Bowser(I did this on third Bowser, but I think it could work on every one),grab him by the tail after he spews out fire.If you get hit by a moving blue flame while holding Bowser, you can go through him when you are burning(after you automatically let go).
Another thing I discovered is more of a cool trick than a glitch, but it's minor. If you long jump into the Princess's Secret Slide Window, you hit a wall.I was experimenting with this one day,and discovered that you can wall kick out of it,if you time a long jump and a tap of the A button, you will come back out.Again, this is likely to have been discovered.
ANOTHER kind of weird thing that isn't a glitch or a trick, more like a force of gravity,is in Bowser in the Sky.When on the last elevator, and you are going up,try jumping.you will go down instead of up.....weird.
I have also been messing around with the slanted wall-type thing in the castle lobby, and I think(this is kind of a stretch)that there might be a place in the wall that is weak, and able to get through, making the game possible to beat with 0 Stars!(I know that's unlikely, but anything could be possible)

Sorry for the triple post, but I just did the Yoshi glitch twice more!Again,I don't know how I did it.But the first time,I talked to him when he was on the final slant, and after I was done talking to him,I reset. As soon as I went up to the roof,he went off again!
Here are some facts that you might want to know: Every single time the glitch has occured I had gotten to the top of the castle via the right side, without a cannon.
When Yoshi walks off the roof,he's gone. There is no more Yoshi, but if you leave the area(I went to the other side of the tower at the top of the castle, and by other I mean on the side opposite to where Yoshi hangs out)he appears again. The only way I could tell that he appeared when I went to the other side is I could hear his footsteps.
Come on guys,we can do this!If you guys were able to figure out the backwards long jump up the 50 star door stair set,we can figure out this, too! --- |THPS4:190/190 Goals and all gaps|THPS3:Beaten with all characters| |Banjo-Kazooie:Grunty's Revenge Completed 100% in under 3 hours|SMS:120 Shines| |

I'm a little confused about your Yoshi glitch. Tell me your whole procedure again, only use spaces so I can understand. I would read it again, but just looking at it hurts my brain.
In regard to your two glitches, about kicking the wall to the secret slide and dancing on the banister, I have done both before. I'm sure many others have to.

Nice job C5 (you don't mind if I call you that, do you?) I've never heard of the Yoshi glitch you've found, and I belive I can explain why he vanshed. When he went over the edge, there was no intended movement for him off of the castle. This stuff has probably already been discovered, but...
Get on the very top of the castle's main tower, and you will notice some weird stuff: - The first thing you will notice is that Mario can go right through the pole that's up there. - The tower peak isn't very symmetrical. This is obvious if you look straight down from the peak. - The whole castle seems to become invisible if you're looking up from the tower peak at a steep enough angle. --- "You'll go FLYING LIKE A NITRO-FUELED DRACONIS AIRSHIP!!!!" --Karthesios The Insult Comic Bishounen |
