Possibly new miniature glitch.

The Endless Stutter

Well, this glitch is done in BitFS. Go to the pole on the second tilting platform, climb about halfway up it. Make the camera facing toward the beginning of the level. When Mario is at the right point (trial and error is the only way to tell) jump and dive. Mario should hit the inside of the hole leading to the next part, fall back down right on the edge of the hinge that the platform tilts with, and stutter there forever. I haven't found a way to get him down, I had to Reset every time.

you can't name every little place mario stutters on the edge of a plataform and say it's a new glitch O_O actually i don't understand what you said but sounds like my answer fits it
From: wccanard | Posted: 2/15/2006 12:04:30 AM | Message Detail
I think he's saying that it's more than just your regular stutter---you can't actually get unstuttered. There are only very few places in the game where Mario can actually get stuck and where a reset is required, and I think that "glitch" describes them rather well!

I should say that I've not yet done the glitch myself but this is my understanding of what is being said.

Once I was in Tick Tock Clock and I did a backflip on this thing that comes out of the wall and Mario landed in the corner in between the thing that sticks out and the wall and the sound went wacko it was all like "PHZZEDSHEHSPPGHSAPSESP" and I had to reset it because he wouldn't move.

Could someone please explain the "chuckya" glitch?

A few "cool" things:

- I think several people have done this before...Anyways,remember the 0'00''0 glitch with koopa?, that's the way this works: when you are near to people that talks to you (ex:koopa, big penguin) you can quickly jump and they will talk when mario is landing. This is done better with a double long jump: the first landing near the objective and the second
landing to the desired place.
(the only uses I've found for this is in CCM race with the penguin that let's you start the race with a li'l advantage and in THI with the koopa, doing fast times)

Look this screenshots to give you a idea:

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/Maisito/JumpGlitch.jpg
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e44/Maisito/JumpGlitch2.jpg

- This isn't that cool: When entering to LLL, make mario jump towards the candles, and jump to the picture when the power meter is empty. Now you will start and die!

- In SL, take the shell and go to the pond with the coins, now crash it behind the coin to the left. Mario will be stuck there and die crying repeatedly!!! very funny.

Well FODA, it isn't just a stutter. Mario just won't move. He is "endlessly" stuttering. Even when you let go of the Controller.

Although this has probably been discovered I figured I'd share it anyway. You can fall into a dark room behind the door leading into the castle by using the wing cap outside and flying onto the "ledge" on the tower of the castle. Once on the ledge (by ledge I mean the orange-red space you can walk on on the tower), slowly walk into the white wall until you fall down. It may take some patience. Once in the dark room you can enter the castle and into another version of the dark room.

Sorry if this is very old news to all of you. I'm also very tired as I'm posting this.

That is called the "black room of death" by the way. And two more room pairs like this have been found inside the castle that Mario can go in. One at the bottom of the basement stairs and one at the iron door to the moat.

Quoting Zanapher: I have a question (and I don't think it was worth creating a topic for that).
In CCM, at the end of the slide, when you climb on the wall with an arrow to get to the 1up, if you look at the top of the wall you arrived from (the one where the slide
ends) you can see a circular opening, like the end of another slide...
Is it possible to get there from the end room ? While sliding ?
I haven't tried much yet, but I was wondering what we were meant to do to go there (and what is there).

That's where you come out of when you take the shortcut in the race.

No cheating! :P
From: One_must_fall | Posted: 2/18/2006 4:31:13 PM | Message Detail
yea, if you cheat (taking the shortcut or jumping of the slide and landing near the end), you won't get the star.

i dont know if this has been mentioned b4, but there is another way to get MIPS through a door. place him infront of the door, then run a little ways back. run at MIPS and dive into him. if u do it right it should puch MIPS into the door. then walk through the door and pick him up on the other side.

I tried it and when't into the drain moat area. using the doors, has anyone found any black rooms of death there?

This post isn't a big deal, because I don't know if people are still trying to get to "Swim Inside The Castle"

Well, I don't think it's possible. I used a GS code that when you jump, you fall through the fall IF there is something below you. I couldn't fall through the castle roof. Therefore, there is no legal area down there, and if you somehow managed it you would die.

You know that glitch to get Mips thru the door on my second to last post? Heres how I did it.
First I grab Mips and skip the star. I put him in front of the door. I run at him and dive. Mario grabs him and drops him. Mips ish flashing in teh door. I open the door and grab mips from the other side.

CyhunttheCrab: I tried it and when't into the drain moat area. using the doors, has anyone found any black rooms of death there?

Yes. If you use MIPS to glitch through the iron door to the moat, you will find that it has two BRoDs there just like the main entry does.

Sorry to post again, but MIPS does have a falling animation! drop him in the water. when he hits the land, he lands on his butt and lifts himself onto his feet. Awesome!

This may have been programmed in just in case they were to find use for MIPS in a water place, which of course they didn't. But because we glitched MIPS into a room with water, we found this out. You might say this is a buried easter egg, or rather - if you will excuse me - an easter bunny.

Try it in as many different places as you can, on the roof on the moat floor, inside the black room of death, on the beach where there's water under it, etc. Do you die in all these cases?

So it's not enough to just push against the door and put MIPS down? But a dive is needed? When you first pick up MIPS after the dive, can you already see MIPS further in the door than he would be if you only pushed against the door?

I was using my Gameshark earlier and found a weird glitch. I you go up to the key door leading upstairs, get the "You need a key to open this door" message, then Moonjump out of it, you can dive through the 8 star door. You can do something similar in the basement with Toad. If we could find a way to move around freely with the text without a Gameshark, we could easily beat the game with 1 star!

Not quite. What happens to me when I attempt to jump through a floor with no legal area beneath me is Mario just jumps like 2 millimeters in the air and can't go through. So no, I don't die, because I can't get inside the illegal areas.

Nice idea, but sadly it wouldn't work. You'll just recieve the "You need 8 stars" message from the other side of the door (those are fake stairways, it's another Room of Death).

If we can get through the 8 and 30 star doors, then yeah, we can do the game with one star. But you can't move while text is on; the game won't respond to keypresses except for the 'A' to confirm. The moonjump doesn't rely on keypresses, so you can use it during text (and the entering-BBH animation, and probably some other stuff too), but you can't move Mario with no buttons without a cheat device.

By the way, has anyone tried extending the JRB BLJ all the way to the 8-star door?

Has anyone tried the BLJ up the stairs in the lobbey to get past the key door right above it? Or is that set of stairs too small.

stairs are too small, and if we could, it would just lead to a new black room of death.

Forget about the main lobby, we need a way to get past the 30-Star door without MIPS. I'm pretty sure you can't BLJ on the stairs there like in the JRB trick, but I haven't tried myself, so who knows.

about the 30 star door, i have some ideas i can try, but:

1 - i don't think it'll work (it might)
2 - it's gonna be nearly impossible to reproduce in real time

what i plan to try is get speed from the stairs, go down and do *TRY* to gain speed again. I don't think it's possible but it's something to try.

It wouldnt matter if you could get through the 8 star door with 0 stars you would still need 15 stars to unlock the MIPS because if we didnt have to have 15 stars to get the MIPs out then the record would have been with 9 stars insted of 16...

Am i right or am i wrong?

From: koolboy123 | Posted: 3/16/2006 10:26:50 PM | Message Detail
Well, at least we know that if we move fast enough, we can go through most walls. If we figure a way to go as fast as we did with the 16 stars glitch, we can definitely get through.

Am i right or am i wrong?

Completely correct. The only thing holding us back from less than 16 stars is that 30-star door (and the MIPS). Actually, if we could somehow convince MIPS to appear with less than 15 stars (lol yeah right) we could beat the 16 stars...

0 stars is only possible if you can also get through the first bowser door, because there's no way to load the areas behind keyholes doors without actually using the keys on them. So, i can assure that beating all 3 bowsers will always be a requirement to beating the game, no matter what kind of new glitches and strategies are found.
From: The Great Onion Kid | Posted: 3/18/2006 2:54:25 AM | Message Detail
Even if that were to happen, though, there'd need to be a way to get to Bowser 2 without MIPS or Board Bowser's Sub.

9 stars
- Get through 30-star door without MIPS
1 star
- Get through 8-star door without 8 stars
0 stars
- Get into 2nd Bowser level without MIPS

We need the 30-star door thing... Hmm...
