Not really a secret (made the video for someone else), but here's a nice TTC trick I found:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=xu1ru5c7l0w

It's pretty hard to do, but it'll save tons of time if you use it... If someone masters it, there can easily be new record times for Stomp on the Thwomp and Timed Jumps.

Originally (and mistakenly) posted in the video quiz topic, with minor editing. Apologies if it's old:

I was fighting King Whomp and accidentally switched an angle. Turns out that the caged Star might be collected without the owl or the Cannon if you jump on King Whomp (he must be standing, of course) and then Long Jump to it. It's kinda tricky, since the camera angle changes when you leave the platform where the battle takes place. I've only managed to pull it off once, but I can fairly consistently Wall Kick the cage every two or so attempts. Is this known?

I haven't been around here in a long time, but i was reading on what I missed and had to say a couple quick things.

Every single one of the "new" bob-omb glitch iterations (except for the wing cap one, i think) were included in the videos/pictures I made when I first discovered the bob-omb trick, including the chain-chomp one. So basically, way to waste 4-5 hours discovering things that were already in previous threads. It surely would have taken less than that time to read the last few threads... :p
Silent_Slayers | Posted 9/30/2006 12:55:33 PM | message detail

*Sigh*

I need help with the glitch which gets you inside Chain Chomps cage using the bomb. I got it once but...I'm not sure how exactly. I'm thinking it was just luck.

So what exactly have I to do? Do I jump before it explodes? Do I throw it as it's exploding? And which way to I face while doing this?

Thanks.

hey guys lets say theres a star on top of another star and you collected the top one, would u also float down and collect the other one... orr.. cause i just thought of something, get the wild blue star glitch to dance at the bottom of the platform, but before that get the blue coin just under it, get ur 100th coin there so that you collect 2 stars at once.
Swordless Link | Posted 10/1/2006 4:37:45 PM | message detail
That's an interesting thought Slayers. But I think you might just go through the second star without collecting it, since when you get a star he seems to go through anything which isn't ground.

Still, it's worth investigating. Perhaps we could try to touch both at the exact same time?

I think after Mario grabs a star, any interaction with him and anything else in the level stops. That's probably why if you get a star with a Goomba charging you, he runs striaght through you, and why you can't get the star below where the other one is.

For the two stars, you'd need to synchronize the spinning even in order to possibly get both at once. I think someone mentioned trying this earlier in this topic or the last one and after someone mentioned this, they pretty much gave up. on it.

Filimonas | Posted 10/2/2006 5:57:57 AM | message detail
I've already tried that long ago with the "Flying Mario" and the 100 coins star in BOB. It just doesn't work, because after you touch the first star, Mario starts his animation and goes through anything. It seems impossible to catch both stars in the same frame, considering that one of the stars spins faster.
Silent_Slayers | Posted 10/2/2006 1:22:22 PM | message detail
ah well, just hoping to get this topic moving :(

Robertz, can you pleaseeee make me a vid of this glitch that you said was in the lobby or something?

You mean the one I was talking about on the TAS board? I'm not at my house (where I put it on my PC), but when I get back on Sunday I'll make sure to do it. I actually have two new glitches in the lobby... In the meantime, you can try this other glitch I found in WF, which you should be able to do:

Fence Through Mario, Unlimited Earthquake Effect
In WF, get to the platform with the pole. Go right near the tiny black fence beside to, and do a ground-pound on it. Keep doing it, and eventually Mario will merge with the fence. Easy to do and pretty fun.

Hehe not bad Robz. well yes TP. then I did the Z then B button thing where you like slide kinda which i just figured out lets you go backwards about so I could actually land on the platform, no you cant actually just drop off the jump at the top and press B to kick cause you just dive. so you need to do the Z then B trick

Yes I tried your crawly thing, I even got stuck inside it was weird.

Good trick with getting to the Whomp metal. But you should use that trick to see if there is a way to get never-ending metal music. This can be done in BOB in a similar way.

What is this "lobby glitch" everyone's talking about? And what is the "crawly glitch"?

I'm not sure what the lobby glitch is, but here's my vid of the crawl glitch.

mr_roberts_z | Posted 10/8/2006 9:36:07 AM | message detail
I tried the crawl glitch... Pretty neat. I don't know why it works, but I figured out how it works. When Mario crawls, some sort of glitch causes him to go just above the the block and into the ledge above. Mess with the camera a little, and you'lll see that he's crawling normally, just on the bottom layer of the ledge. Why? I got no clue.

And niice strategy, Slayers.

As for the lobby glitch, as I said, I found two of them, and when I get back to my PC (Monday), I'll definitely make vids for them. BTW, does anyone remember how to move the camera in the lobby?

A few years back i figured out that if you push that block under the platform in WDW and jump up and down between the block and the platform Mario will occasionally 'catch' and pull himself up into the platform, where you are able to walk around. Is it possible to do this with the crawl method or does mario always come back out of the platform when you stop crawling?

And just a reminder for any newcomers, most of my videos and pics of glitches and the like can be found here conveniently:

He seems to more or less go back to the block under the platform. At one point I did end up inside the brick platform, but I think that was the result of jumping and not crawling.

Nice to see you posting again Bill, okay just below chuck-yas platform on WDW theres a box thingy, push it under the platform to the left and crawl on the box and it glitches. Im not sure what you mean by unlimited music Bill, mind explaining?

I'm not sure what the lobby glitch is, but here's my vid of the crawl glitch.
